Ambulance doctor in Minsk has described beating people up in prison

“They were constantly beaten so that the guys just howled. It was a terrible howl,” he described it, adding that he had heard every night as they were beaten.

The medic also said that she was detained during the protest action of doctors in Minsk. According to her, security officials said that participating doctors “are not doctors, and it is unclear who”. “When we sat on the street and the car passed, everyone was shocked that the doctors in white coats are on their knees, and we have a close up of the machines,” said the doctor.

Earlier, the Belarusian lawyer Anton Nozhenko said that hundreds of those detained during the protests in Minsk have written statements about the abuse. He noted that the first day people were sleeping on the ground and the grass, and feed them only started on the third day. According to him, in the first days people were beaten, however this is not due to knocking out some testimony, and “just educate”.

Protests continue in Belarus from 9 August. Lukashenko believes that the opposition plans to organize a revolution.
