Former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko plans to carry out a coup in the country on the independence Day on August 24. This was stated by the Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from party “Oppositional platform For life,” Ilya Kiva in an interview with NewsOne.
According to him, the former Ukrainian leader is funding nationalist groups. Kiva suspects that Poroshenko intends to capture several administrative buildings, as well as the President’s office. In addition, the MP believes that Poroshenko can demand early elections of the head of state and Parliament.
“Poroshenko just wants to remain unpunished, to seize power and continue the path of crime against Ukraine,” — said Kiva.
In June, Poroshenko accused the current government in the desire to turn Ukraine into “the country [Viktor] Yanukovych.” According to the politician, the actions of the team of President Vladimir Zelensky lead to the creation of the state “with the absence of the rule of law, the persecution of the opposition, torture and tyranny”.
Poroshenko is found in a variety of criminal cases, but most of them do not have the status of a suspect.
